What a private driver in Croatia is good for

Croatia is a long country with one motorway and many places worth a detour. With a private driver you can leave Zagreb in the morning, stop at Rastoke and Plitvice, and sleep in Zadar or Split the same evening, without renting a car, paying for parking or planning the route yourself.

Typical bookings: airport pickup plus a Zagreb city tour; a day trip to Plitvice Lakes or Istria; a one-way transfer from Zagreb to Split or Dubrovnik with stops; a 5-, 7- or 10-day tour with the same driver; business travel between meetings in Zagreb, Ljubljana and Vienna.

    How it works

Send us the dates, the number of people and a rough idea of where you want to go. We reply within 12 hours with a fixed price and a suggested plan. You confirm, pay a deposit or the full amount by card, and receive the driver's name and phone number the day before.

On the day, the driver adapts to you: longer stop here, skip that, lunch where the locals go. Changes on the day are fine as long as the total time and distance stay within what was agreed; extra hours are charged at the hourly rate.

    Private driver vs. rental car

A rental car in summer costs €60–120 per day plus fuel, tolls, parking, insurance excess and the stress of Dalmatian old-town streets. A private driver for a full day is €550 for the whole group, you do not drive after the wine tasting, and you are dropped at the hotel door. For groups of 4 or more and for one-way coastal trips, the driver is usually the cheaper and simpler option.
